“ We were a party of two for this dinner at La Girolle. I have eaten there three times before and was set again for another great culinary experience. We were professionally welcomed by the staff and the service was excellent. As for the food La Girolle still holds to its reputation as a restaurant serving delicate and delicious cuisine in Quebec City. As starters we had the "creme brulee au foie gras" and "feuillete d'escargots sauce fromagere". Yummy, yummy and yummy. As a result nothing has left in our plates. The main meal consisted of their landmark "ris de veau braises a la forestiere" and the delicious "cerf en croute de champignon, sauce perigourdine". All the dishes were out of this world: nicely dressed, balanced and perfectly cooked. Since La Girolle is a BYOW we accompanied the meal with a wine I brought along: the outstanding Givry 1er Cru Cellier aux Moines 2004 of Domaine Joblot (the wine was decanted as soon as we were sitting). What a treat! The atmosphere of the restaurant does not have the fanciness of Michelin-starred restaurants. But hey! Excellent and affordable fine cuisine was what we came for and our expectations were completely fulfilled. I will go back to La Girolle again for sure. ”
